Frequently Asked Questions
Are you and ISP?
-
No. We are not a Internet Service Provider (ISP) and speeds can be vary depending on the ISP service to your home, ranch or small business
If I get gigabit speeds to my home from the ISP can I expect to get the same speed at my laptop or desktop computers or any other client device?
-
It depends on a number of factors.
-
Do you have the network cabling or Wi-Fi devices that would support the speeds you are paying for presently?
-
Does your device have a network adapter or Wi-Fi adapter that will support those speeds.
-
Do you have the network and Wi-Fi configuration setup to support the speeds your ISP is supplying to home or small business?
-
Does your network gateway, router and/or switch support those speeds?
-
If the answer is yes to all the above then typically you can expect a similarly matched speed at the client device. If the answer is no to one or all, then you will not receive the same speed provided by ISP at all client devices.
Can you assure that if receive a gigbit or better speed to home or business that I get the same to our designated client devices?
-
Yes, but this will require thoughful design and equipment that will allow for those speeds to be achieved. Meaning we would assess the network design from the ISP Optical network on the home or small business all the way back to the client device. We would then make changes based on the needs of each individual client.
-
This could encompass changing the cabling, Gateway/Router and Wi-Fi Access Points or simply changing settings on your gateway or router.
Do you only work on new homes, ranches or small business?
-
No, we will assess current residential and small business setup and provide suggestions on how to improve and secure your network based on your level of commitment. We realize that everyone's budget and level of need are different, so we will discuss what changes and problems you have for your site and determine what is a good, better and best solution that can be implemented.
If I am building a new home, ranch or small business when is the best time to engage your services?
-
We prefer to be engaged after you have made your design choices with the builder or architect. Once you have formalized the types of building materials you have chosen and incorporated those into those blueprints and/or floor plan, we can provide a comprehensive design with a digital floor plan. This will also allow us to work with your builder to designate the locations of drops and how many drops will be needed presently or in the future. Doing design work in conjunction with the build will help eliminate the need expensive cable pulls and possibly lessen the overall cost by eliminating rework due to network and Wi-Fi equipment mismatched termination drops. We prefer to team with our clients.
If I have no Internet service provider to my home, ranch or business is there a solution?
-
Yes, we can leverage a couple different solutions that would allow for Internet service and Wi-Fi to your home, ranch or small business. These are handleded on a case by case basis and would require understaning the terrain and available services in your area. The cost can vary, but we can suggest a solution once we have a few key elements of information.
Do you have any solutions that would not require the changing out of existing equipment?
-
Yes, there are configuration changes that can be made to your existing network and Wi-Fi to improve speeds, make your network more secure and allow for better management, but it may be constrained by the current gateway or router you have in service today. We would suggest changes based on what equipment you have today and your level of need. Not all solutions require the top tier changes, so we will discuss with the client the best level of design change for their existing solution.
